大炮仙

Do you know of any? The title refers to anyone who enjoys bragging about himself/herself. To put it in a nice way, it's called Self-Promotion. I chanced upon the blog of one Canadian lady based in Singapore. She wrote about how "proud" she is turning 50, having three weddings in the name of legalising it, extensive travel (to some 15 countries), winning some brand award in Asia, and so blessed to have good family and friends around.

Her blog had pictures of her three weddings and when I saw the picture of her so-called family and friends, I actually identified familiar faces who incidentally are the ones that couldn't deal with her intense Self-Promotion. So I spoke to a client, MR, who is also 大炮仙's colleague. I mentioned her blog seems to paint a picture that she is having everything going on immaculately well for her, I wondered if she is trying too hard. I had to say, "Is it me or she is 'trying to show off'?"

MR's reply was, "She's the biggest you'll ever come across. And if you need guidance on self-promotion, she's your girl!"

Apparently, she calls herself a PR professional and has someone ready with a big budget to borrow her expertise. MR said another colleague, JL, who knows 大炮仙 for a long time was flabbergasted. MR quoted JL's comment: "I wonder if 大炮仙 knows only 30% of her PR 'wisdom' is true and the rest is bullshit! If I have that kind of money, I would rather burn it!"

I was laughing so hard and told Benji about this 大炮仙. The "sister" told me he knows one too, also named 大炮仙... or at least everyone calls him that. This 大炮仙 claimed to be able to clear 2.4km run in five minutes flat. Benji said, "Please lor... even Commando also not that fast!"
